Our local appreciation blog continues this week with a look at The New Leaf Co-op! Based in the Sciennes/Marchmont area of Edinburgh, New Leaf Co-op is owned and managed by its employees. They're committed to providing vegetarian wholefoods that are healthy yet affordable, with an additional focus on products that are organic, fair-trade, and locally sourced.
We really admire New Leaf Co-op's ethos about being a working collective that is not driven mainly by profit margins but is aware of its wider social responsibilities. This demonstrates that, as a company, they value people - both the workers and patrons - as well as other factors such as supporting the local economy and investing in local producers.
