Habari/Greetings,

We've got some good news for fans of MaRobert's sauce: not only are we offering you the delicious 'Taste of Tanzania', but we're keeping you healthy too! Its important for us to produce authentic sauces, true to the simple and flavourful ingredients of Tanzanian food. Here's a breakdown of the great health benefits of the ingredients in your MaRobert's sauces:

Hot Hot! - Pili Pili Chill

The health benefits of chillies are becoming more widely known, and nutritionists are finding new reasons all the time to introduce some spice into your diet. MaRobert's sauces use Scotch Bonnet peppers, which derive from Jamaica and are part of a family of Capsicum Frutescens chillies, rich in Vitamin A. Capsicums provide more Vitamin A than any other edible plant gram for gram!

Chilli peppers are also rich in vitamins C, E and K. Studies show that vitamins A and C act as antioxidants which can prevent cell damage, support the immune system, inhibit cancer growth and even stimulate metabolic rate. In addition, vitamin K is vital to the prevention of blood clotting and helps strengthen bones. Evidence suggests Vitamin A and C act against inflammation, and are therefore really important to in the diets of suffers of arthritis, for example. Capsicums are additionally particularly beneficial against prostate and stomach cancers.

Chillies are rich in iron, potassium, niacin, thiamine, magnesium and riboflavin.

The spice, provided by the active ingredient Capsiacin, of this particularly hot variety makes Scotch Bonnets an effective suppressant of appetite whilst increasing the rate at which the body burns fat- particularly useful for the weight conscious!

Fruity Fruity! - Mango

Mangoes, a member of the drupe family with dates, coconuts and olives, are packed with 20 vitamins and minerals! The main benefits of the mango, actually the most widely eaten fruit in the world, include strengthening bones, improving digestion, and enriching the quality of hair and skin through high vitamin A concentration. As a result of improvement of the digestive transit, Mangoes are associated with the prevention of colon cancer.

The high-fibre nature of Mangoes make them perfect for a diet preventative of heart disease and diabetes, and beta-carotene lowers the risk of prostrate cancer as with chillies.

Crunchy Crunchy! - Carrots

Remember that old wives tale you were told as a kid? That carrots would help you see in the dark? Well in turns out there's more sense on that than it seems! Carrots have one of the highest concentrations of beta-carotene of any edible plant, which is converted into vitamin A by the liver and is crucial to sustaining and maintaining good eye sight. Additionally, beta-carotene has been shown to prevent against cataracts- so your mum was right all along!

A carrot-rich diet is particularly preventative against breast, lung and colon cancer; researchers have recently discovered  falcarinol and falcarindiol, natural pesticides produced in carrots which have proven effective in reducing the risk of these cancers by up to 1/3rd.

Effective against cell damage, carrots can reduce the effects of ageing and improve the quality of the skin, and high levels of vitamin A help flush toxins out of the body.

Juicy Juicy! - Tomatoes

The final key ingredient to MaRobert's sauce is the humble tomato- but you'll be pleased to know its as vital to a healthy body and mind as our other ingredients! Super high in Vitamin C and the phytochemical, lycopene, tomatoes are often regarded a super-food for enriching the immune system and decreasing cancer risks. Strong levels of potassium are vital to low blood pressure in accordance with a controlled salt intake, and the addition of choline to this cocktail of vitamin and minerals promotes hearth health.

Fans of looking good will be pleased to hear tomatoes support the bodies production of collagen, which plumps out the skin naturally. High in folic acid, tomatoes are particularly recommended for pregnant women, and those suffering depression; folic acid prevents an excess of homocysteine from forming in the body, which can prevent blood and other nutrients from reaching the brain. This allows the body to successfully produce serotonin, which makes you feel good but also sleep well!

We at MaRobert's are proud of the natural integrity of our sauces, and hope you love it too. As part of a healthy lifestyle, used in healthy home cooking and with no added sugar, MaRobert's sauces are a perfect ingredient for you and your family. So get into the kitchen, and get cooking those vitamin-rich meals!
